EP150 DIY Sofa Bed

http://www.homemade-modern.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/sofabed-banner.jpg

This DIY Sofa transforms into a bed and is way more comfortable than most convertible sofas since the design is based around a Tuft & Needle TwinXL mattress. The padded backrest is completely DIYed and doesn’t require any sewing. This entire DIY Sofa Bed was made from 3 sheets of ¾” plywood, some 3/8” bolts, finish screws, ¾” EMT conduit and 3-1/2” pool noodles.

I used the linen sheet set also from Tuft & Needle in slate as the sofa cover.

The conduit is strong and has a nice flex to it but steel pipe with threaded flanges could be used instead to make a more heavy duty sofa. If was to build it again I would probably switch out the lower conduit with nuts and bolts instead.
