2014 is going to be awesome!
Hello Everyone,
It has been a while since I have posted anything on HMM. I have been busy with my day jobs and trying to secure sponsorship commitments that would allow me to spend more time on HMM.
2013 was our first full year of operation and I am overwhelmed by all the positivity and support that this experiment in design and media has generated. Thank you for the kind emails, tweets, and photos of your own projects. The reaction from our visitors is what makes the sponsorship possible. Sending in your photos of completed projects helps us show that our audience is takes actions and is a desirable demographic to reach. Your feedback and photos also lets me troubleshoot the designs and make adjustments and changes. So keep emailing and tweeting photos to me.
What to Expect in 2014:
Lots of New ProjectsMy primary focus will continue to be on designing and sharing instructional content for easy to make modern home furnishings. I plan on posting more than 30 new projects in 2014.
Updates on Old ProjectsI have gotten a ton of questions on about the previous projects. I have been trying to keep the instructional posts short and to the point while still providing enough information and guidance. I will be going back and adding in more information to the projects that I have gotten the most questions on.
Integration with RYOBI NationRYOBI has committed to supporting HMM through 2014. We are going to be working with RYOBI Nation to create a bunch of new opportunities for our visitors.
Together we will create new types of instructional content, host tool giveaways and contests. We will also be encouraging HMM visitors to join RYOBI Nation and use it as a place to post their own projects. We will be announcing details soon.
Book DealWe are very close to finalizing a book deal with publisher. The book will feature new projects and more in depth instruction.
Ben’s BlogI will be posting in this new section of the website called Ben’s Blog. These posts will feature my thoughts and observations on design. I will also be using this area to foster greater interaction with our visitors. I will be posting users made versions of HMM projects and conducting surveys about what kind of designs ideas you want to see me explore.
