MINI x HomeMade Modern pt. 3

NYC and Shanghai with MINI Travel Recap

I have been collaborating with MINI for the last year and recently went to the A/D/O space in Brooklyn to check out some really cool pieces of installation art and help promote the launch of the all-electric MINI. I don’t normally post non project videos but these pieces inspired a lot of ideas and I thought it would be worth sharing.

MINI is doing some really creative projects to explore new ideas in design and technology and is thinking beyond automobiles. I got to check out the construction of a MINI Living project in Shanghai! It is a combination of a co-working space and an apartment complex with a bunch of innovative design features.

My favorite part was these rotating bookshelf doors that connect the private rooms to the community common spaces.

I also got to go for a ride in the first all-electric MINI

One of the main ideas of this campaign is embodied in the #ChargedWithPassion. As someone whose work is motivated by a sense of purpose this really resonated with me. My work means more than just paying bills it is a quest to make good design more accessible. The first all-electric MINI is more than just transportation - it is a statement about values like a sustainability, rethinking what city life could be and ideas for mixing classic design with new technology. If you find my work interesting, then you might enjoy the other influencers that MINI brought together from around world. It is a really inspiring collection of creative minds and I made so many new friends. Check out #ChargedWithPassion on Instagram to see the other creative people working on this project.

Disclaimer:

MINI Cooper SE*: Energy consumption in kWh/100 km combined: 16.8 - 14.8, Fuel consumption in l/100 km combined: 0, CO2 emissions in g/km combined: 0. The driving range depends on a variety of factors, especially: personal driving behaviour, selected route, weather conditions, usage of heating/cooling and preconditioning. *These figures are preliminary values and have not yet been confirmed. Subject to change. The values of fuel consumptions, CO2 emissions and energy consumptions shown were determined according to the European Regulation (EC) 715/2007 in the version applicable at the time of type approval. The figures refer to a vehicle with basic configuration in Germany and the range shown considers optional equipment and the different size of wheels and tires available on the selected model. The values of the vehicles are already based on the new WLTP regulation and are translated back into NEDC-equivalent values in order to ensure the comparison between the vehicles. [With respect to these vehicles, for vehicle related taxes or other duties based (at least inter alia) on CO2-emissions the CO2 values may differ to the values stated here.] The CO2 efficiency specifications are determined according to Directive 1999/94/EC and the European Regulation in its current version applicable. The values shown are based on the fuel consumption, CO2 values and energy consumptions according to the NEDC cycle for the classification. For further information about the official fuel consumption and the specific CO2 emission of new passenger cars can be taken out of the „handbook of fuel consumption, the CO2 emission and power consumption of new passenger cars“, which is available at all selling points and at https://www.dat.de/angebote/ verlagsprodukte/leitfaden-kraftstoffverbrauch.html.
